In his first fight in 10 months, former 2-division world champion Devon Alexander made his PBC debut on ESPN, taking on tough veteran Aron Martinez. Martinez entered the fight having gone the distance and taking a close decision loss to Robert Guerrero in early June. From go, Martinez made the fight tough on Alexander by getting inside and forcing Alexander to fight where he looked uncomfortable. Alexander did a good job of still controlling the fight from the inside in the early rounds, but Martinez's relentless attack ultimately wore him down. Bit by bit, Martinez piled up the points in the second half of the fight and ultimately came away with a Unanimous Decision victory, marking the biggest win of his career.
